EVENTS
FROM THE PAST FEW YEARS
Improvisational
Mass settings at St Mary the Virgin
For several Sundays during
the summer Ruth collaborated with organist Robert McCormick creating improvisational
settings of the Mass and Latin Propers as well as several anthems with tunes that Ruth
wrote with Robert improvising accompaniments on the organ. On August 1st they did two
Propers and an arrangement of Heart Prayer a poem by Ruths sister Elizabeth. On
August 22, September 12, and 26th Ruth did improvisational settings of the mass as well as
Propers.
As far as
improvising goes it doesnt get much better than this for me.
I love creating sacred music live in the context of a service. |
