EVENTS FROM THE PAST FEW YEARS

Improvisational Mass settings at St Mary the Virgin 

For several Sundays during the  summer Ruth collaborated with organist Robert McCormick creating improvisational settings of the Mass and Latin Propers as well as several anthems with tunes that Ruth wrote with Robert improvising accompaniments on the organ. On August 1st they did two Propers and an arrangement of Heart Prayer a poem by Ruth’s sister Elizabeth. On August 22, September 12, and 26th Ruth did improvisational settings of the mass as well as Propers.

“As far as improvising goes it doesn’t get much better than this for me. 
I love creating sacred music live in the context of a service.”
